When flying, is ski luggage the same as snowboard luggage?

Most carriers allow a ski bag as a part of your free luggage, do they consider a snowboard bag the same thing? Thanks.

I'm afraid that depends solely on the airline you are travleing on. The airline I work for charges a fee for ski's and a fee for snowboards becuase both of them are really expensive and the airline takes a bigger risk by handling them. That's the main reason for the fee. The only way you can find out for sure is to look on that airline's website under their baggage allowance section and it will tell you all the things they charge fees for. Happy Travels!
