Choosing a Favor to Compliment your Wedding Theme

Your wedding guests will come from far and near to be with you on your special day.  Show them just how much they mean to you with some carefully selected wedding favors! Or maybe your job is to orchestrate and host the bridal shower, and you need some ideas for party favors.  All it takes is a vision and little creativity and you’ll have the perfectly coordinated favors chosen in no time!

Picking out the favors for your shower or wedding is no small decision, but it should be a fun one.  A little research will yield an abundance of resources; it is certain you will have no trouble finding party favors to compliment your wedding theme.

Here are a few suggestions to get you started:

Perhaps your wedding is a beach theme. Lucky you! Think of all the options available for your party favors.  There are an abundance of sea shell favors, from sweetly scented seashell soaps to picture frames, place card holders and candles.  Any of which will forever remind your guests of the fun they had at your wedding!  Or think of how they will appreciate their whimsical flip-flop luggage tag when they are identifying their suitcase at the airport each time they travel.

It could be that you want your guests to have personalized favors to always remember your day by. There is a wealth of options available for you! From monogrammed votive candles to personalized tissue packs, you are sure to find just the right favor to suit your theme.  Or consider a personalized label to go on anything you choose; a packet of seeds, a tin of mints or a sticker to seal a gift box.

If your wedding theme leans more towards a contemporary theme, a calla lily would add a lovely accent to your wedding favors.  A set of frosted glass calla lily coasters would be a beautiful and useful favor for your guests, or maybe a calla lily bookmark would be appreciated.

One popular trend is to have an Asian themed wedding.  Imagine how striking your tables will look when decorated with cherry blossom silk fans for your guests to take home. Or send each guest on their way with a little extra luck when you choose an elephant tea light holder.

If it’s the shower for the bride you are in charge of, think about what makes her unique, and work your theme around that.  If she loves movies, a popcorn box would make a charming and clever container to hold a favor of your choice, like a movie pass or video rental.  Or maybe you know she loves to work in the garden.  Floating butterfly tealights or daisy place card holders for the guests would add a sweet touch to the shower.

Whatever theme you choose, whatever the ambience of your shower or wedding, remember the most important rule in choosing a special favor: have fun with it.  If it comes from the heart, your guests will be touched by your thoughtfulness and generosity.
