I am going on a trip from California to Alabama, What items are not allowed on the plane?
Can I take cigarettes in my carry on??
Can I store a lighter in my luggage? I'm guessing its no allowed in the carryone but what about in my suitcase?

Cigarettes have always been okay to carry on. Lighters are also now okay, they lifted the ban on lighters in 2007, check out the TSA website regarding lighters. For carry there are restrictions for liquids being taken through security.
