if one holiday i am planning to visit a number of different destinations at once what is the best way to pack?

by this i mean if i am planning to start of in paris but finish in barcelona traveling by train and making 10 stops on route what luggage should i take,

i was thinking last night my best Solution would be to take one big main piece of luggage ie back pack or suitcase, take a smaller backpack for day trips when on stops and carry things like coats camera etc and also for evening use and when i don't want to carry my backpack (packed inside one of my other bags when not is use a small lightweight dispatch bag.

Before I answer...let me just say I am extremely jealous of you right now. But...I digress... Your idea of taking one main piece of luggage with a smaller backpack is great, however you should make sure you have the correct item. If you're staying hostels or communal lodgings, you're going to want something you can keep on you at all times. Makes sure that whatever you have fastens tightly and correctly.
