Would it be safe to ride the Blue Line in Chicago from Union Station to O'Hare with luggage?

We're coming in from Detroit on Megabus, and don't want to spend $50 dollars on a cab, especially because we have 5 people and would need two cabs.

It would be absolutely safe. Clinton would be a better stop to get on at than Monroe because you'll be more likely to have your choice of seats for the ride to O'Hare, since most people already on the train will be getting off in the next 5 stops.

There are likely to be beggars on the train, but as a previous poster said, just say sorry and look away and that'll be the end of it.

One thing about the luggage, though; it may be the most considerate thing to sit at one end of the car rather than in the middle, because there will be fewer people trying to step around it. I live off the blue line and sometimes these folks come from O'Hare and have their giant suitcases that they stuffed both of their kids in along with every piece of clothing made since 1944 sitting in the middle of the already tiny aisle blocking many people from having an easy time moving about the car.
