Costa Ricans out there?

Hi. I'm planning a three month "backpacking" trip to Costa Rica except I really don't want to carry a backpack. I was thinking of bringing a duffel bag with wheels or a standard suitcase with wheels. I will most likely be traveling across the country and taking buses. I have been told that wheeled suitcases won't work there since the roads are muddy or cobblestone. Maybe I am just not understanding, used it in Mexico and it worked fine on the cobblestones, little bumpy but no big deal. What do you suggest? When you take the bus across the country, is there a place to store your luggage? The idea of wearing my pack isn't appealing much to me. Would love to hear from you!

Luggage question. I want to buy samonite rolling luggage. I want something not to big, but I want to attach

a bag to it. So I want the luggage to attach to each other.

My husband says the 30 inch rolling luggage is too big to carry down stairs so I want something to save his back.

Any idea what I should buy? It would be great if the luggage stored inside each other.

So I think two rolling suitcases that attach to each other would do it.

If you plan to use it to fly, I'd suggest a 25-26". I have a 30" in my set and if I fill it up, it exeeds the 50 lb. limit for most airlines. I only take my 26" now. I can fit my 22" inside of it for storage and the 22" fits the carry on regulations as well. They do clip together. You hubby is a gem. Mines says that I can pack as much as I like as long as I can handle it myself. Best of luck and happy travels.

Rolling backpack (luggage) durability problem. I need super sturdy wheels, tough back part.

I need one for college this semester. I will have to haul 4 large textbooks 5 days and week going up stairs, on and off curbs, and on unpaved road. Wheels on all the rollies I get from the store last two months at most. Also, the back tends to get scuffed and/or torn. I need a rollie hardy enough to withstand all that. May I suggest another brand? I've had an Eagle Creek lattitude bag for EVER and I have put this thing through hell. It looks like a regular rolly carry-on, but the back part un-velcros and voila! BackPack Straps!
