I'm going to fly on a domestic United Airlines flight in the US, and I want to take some fishing equipment along (including a knife). Are there rules against having sharp objects and knives in your checked baggage? Obviously I wouldn't carry any of that stuff in my carry-on, so just talk about checked luggage in your answer.

I'll leave from LA to NYC and there i have to take a flight to Madrid. My question is do i have to change my luggage once I arrived to NYC? I'm flying with American Airlines to NYC and from there I'm taking Iberia airlines. Does the flight companies take care of my luggage or do i have to go and get my luggage in NYC and then go to the Iberia counter and check in my luggage again? Please advice, thank you so much!

I went shooting last year when I was in Texas, and was going to take some of the empty cartridges back to England with me as a souvenir, but thought maybe this might cause me hassle in customs.
Is this allowed?
I wouldn't take them in my hand luggage btw, thats just asking for trouble.
