I'm pretty sure they will switch my luggage in Austin but when switching airlines in LA, will i have to reclaim my luggage?

ok so i'm 16 and i'm going to florida from another place in the US. i smoke cigarettes and my parents dont know. i need to bring a pack so if i pack them in my luggage (not my carry on and no lighter) will my parents find out.. i guess i'm asking if security checks luggage in front of people and if a minor can bring cigs on a plane and not get introuble.

No, they do not inspect your checked baggage in front of you. The TSA isn't even going to know your suitcase belongs to a 16-year-old unless you have something illegal in it that requires YOU personally to be searched.

I would take a standard suitcase. At the dock, people will take your luggage to be loaded onto the ship and delivered to your cabin later. These people do not work for the cruise line and are NOT gentle. Even if they are your bags are loaded into extremely large metal cages and they are often 12 or 14 deep before the whole thing is loaded onto the ship. I would not want to have a duffel or other soft sided bag end up on the bottom level. Things would get broken.

As to the storage space in your cabin you don't need to worry. Before the airlines started limiting the size and weight of my bags, I took a very large 30" suitcase and a 22" carry on. After unpacking, I put the small bag inside the larger one and slid them under my bed. No problem. If your bags are too big then you can ask your steward to store them for you and he/she will bring them back on the last night for you to repack. Have a great cruise. I know you will.

Luggage weight limit on United Airlines?

I am going on a flight in december from detroit, to chicago, to hong kong, then to the philippines.

which is apporiximatly 21 hours, and 17 minutes.
is this considered an international flight?
im using united airlines service.

When you travel on a plane, can you sell your extra luggage space to companies and transport stuff for them?

I am going to Europe in November and thought that I might be able to sell my extra luggage space or be a courier for a company wanting to send documents or whatnot from the US to Switzerland.

No. It is against the law and if found out by the authorities of the terminal you can be put to jail and charged with a felony.
Since you haven't packed the excess luggage yourself, you cannot guarantee that there aren't any illegal substances or products in the luggage. If you are held up in a random baggage check, because the luggage is registered in your name, you will be held responsible for whatever is in the luggage. I do not recommend you take this risk!!!
